Luke AFB to see spike in night flights

PHOENIX — Some West Valley residents may want to start covering their ears at night.
F-16 pilots at Luke Air Force Base will make more night flights in August.
The base said the flights, though slightly inconvenient for neighbors, are integral to the pilots’ training regimens.
The base is allowed to fly 24 hours a day, but will limit night flight hours to 11:30 p.m. The flights will not be made on the weekends, nor will they include any F-35s.
