PHOENIX -- A tanker truck rollover accident on Interstate 17 in the north Valley left one person dead early Friday morning.
Authorities shut down the freeway southbound at the Loop 303 and northbound at Jomax Road for several hours. The entire freeway was reopened about 3 p.m.
The oil tanker rolled about 5 a.m., spilling its contents.
Arizona highway patrol Officer Carrick Cook said the temperature of the oil on the road had reached 300 degrees.
