Flash flood, storm warnings issued for metro Phoenix

PHOENIX -- The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning and Thunderstorm Warning for Maricopa County Friday.

The flash flood warning is in effect from 8:36 p.m. until 10:26, while the thunderstorm warning ends at 10:36 p.m.

Thunderstorms developed far west of Phoenix, near Wickenburg and US 60, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds, so there may be low visibility in some places.

Another storm cell was bringing rain near Buckeye and over Interstate 10.

As of 9:28 p.m., storms remained strong west and northwest of the Valley.

Blowing dust remains a possibility, but now dust warnings or advisories have yet been issued.
