Police searching for armed robber of Phoenix Lowe's store

PHOENIX -- Police departments in the metro Phoenix area are ramping up their search for a man who committed an armed robbery at a Phoenix home improvement store on April 1.

Silent Witness said the suspect went into a Lowe's Home Improvement store at 2929 W. Thunderbird Road around 7 p.m. that evening and attempted to steal two welding items.

The man attempted to leave without paying, and when he was confronted by two employees, he pointed a handgun at them and then ran outside to a black four-door sedan that was waiting for him, authorities said. They also said there was an unknown driver in the vehicle that was an accomplice to the crime.

Police said the robbery suspect is about 5 feet, 7 inches and 130 pounds who has brown eyes, black hair and is approximately 25 years old. He was wearing a black button-up shirt, jeans and a black hat at the time of the robbery.
