PHOENIX — A northern Arizona family is seeking the return of a stolen bronze cross that was left in their daughter’s memory after she died in a car accident.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said the cross was left in honor of 16-year-old Ayeesha Day who died near Spring Valley, Ariz., in January.
The 3-foot by 2-foot bronze cross was made by students at Mayer High School and includes Day’s name, birthday and the date she died. It was stolen between July 15-18.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the cross is asked to contact YCSO at 928-771-3260 or Silent Witness at 800-932-3232 and refer to case 14-025533.
