Las Cruces trio plead guilty to drug trafficking

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- Federal authorities say three Las Cruces residents have pleaded guilty to charges of methamphetamine trafficking.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for New Mexico said 42-year-old Jennifer Sanders entered a plea Friday in federal court in Albuquerque.

Co-defendants Jose Luis Nino and Aubrey Savage already entered guilty pleas to multiple drug charges.

Prosecutors say all three were indicted in March after a lengthy undercover sting.

They say the trio worked for 47-year-old Matthew Maley of Tucson, Arizona, who led an operation that trafficked drugs into New Mexico and Arizona.

Sanders and the 40-year-old Nino face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years. Prosecutors say 34-year-old Savage faces a mandatory minimum of five years.

Sentencing dates have yet to be scheduled for all three.
