Arizona bar owner accused of groping job applicant
PHOENIX -- A Tempe bar owner is accused of plying a young woman with drinks during a job interview and then groping her.
Jay Kennedy Johari had his initial court appearance Tuesday on suspicion of sexual abuse and unlawfully taking photos without authorization.
Johari, 35, was arrested July 2 and released from jail with electronic monitoring the next day.
The then 20-year-old woman said she was interviewing for a waitress job at the Vintage Lounge and Grill at Fourth Street and Mill Avenue in October 2012.
After being given numerous drinks over a span of two hours, the woman said she fell asleep inside the bar's office.
She said she awoke to find Johari kissing her and touching her inappropriately.
Police said a surveillance camera recorded the woman undressing.
