TEMPE, Ariz. -- Tempe police say they are investigating a late night shooting that left one man dead.

Authorities said they responded to a call at about 11:30 p.m. Friday at Kiwanis Park. Officers found a 33-year-old man had been shot.

They said the victim was there for a family Fourth of July gathering when he got into an argument with another family member and an altercation ensued.

Detectives said they have arrested a suspect, but weren't able to immediately provide further details.

The investigation remains ongoing.
