Sen. John McCain visits Afghanistan

PHOENIX — As part of his diplomatic trip to India to meet with newly-elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Arizona Sen. John McCain also stopped in Afghanistan.
McCain was accompanied by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and the two men met with Afghan presidential candidates Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani.

Afghanistan is in the midst of a crisis as Pakistani refugees are flooding the border, “as the Pakistani military continues its offensive against the Taliban in North Waziristan,” according to the news website ForeignPolicy.com.
