Arizona AG's Office to keep Tom Horne report confidential

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Attorney General's Office said it won't release a report coming from its internal investigation into whether office employees used work time and public resources to work on Attorney General Tom Horne's re-election campaign.

Office spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told the Arizona Capitol Times that report will be kept confidential because of the attorney-client privilege and state personnel rules.

Grisham also said the office will not be able to disclose the investigation results in firings.

Grisham had announced Friday that the office has hired for former legislator John Kaites, former judge David Derickson and a private investigator and a computer forensics expert to investigate the allegations by a former Horne staffer, Sarah Beatie.

Beattie attorney Tom Ryan said the office could waive the attorney-client privilege.
