PHOENIX -- An Apache Junction man is accused of aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing a partygoer multiple times last month.
Pinal County Sheriff's officials said Thursday that 23-year-old Daniel Sepulveda remains jailed. It's unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
Authorities say Sepulveda apparently didn't know the 21-year-old victim from Mesa.
They both attended a house party in Apache Junction on May 23.
The Mesa man was reportedly intoxicated and passed out in the yard.
Investigators said Sepulveda tried to wake up the man and wound up getting into a fight with him before fleeing the scene.
The victim was later found covered in blood and had eight stab wounds and multiple lacerations to his upper body.
He was airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital and survived. His name hasn't been released.
