Phoenix one step closer to hosting DNC in 2016

PHOENIX — Phoenix has advanced in the bidding to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
Less than a month after Phoenix threw its hat in the ring, Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton tweeted Wednesday that the city has advanced to the next round.
Excited #Phoenix has advanced in bid to host 2016 #DNC convention. We'll welcome @TheDemocrats for site visit in coming weeks.

The DNC will announce the chosen city either later this year or early 2015.
