PHOENIX -- A driver charged with hitting a pregnant woman and killing her baby in Phoenix after drinking 30 beers is going to prison.

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge sentenced Guadalupe Castaneda on Friday to 10 years in prison for second-degree murder, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

Castaneda's sentence, which includes five years of supervised probation, was issued as part of a plea agreement.

Phoenix police said Castaneda admitted to drinking before driving in the early morning of Aug. 25, 2013. He sideswiped a man and struck two women working at a taco stand while trying to flee in a stolen car.

Investigators said one of the women was four months pregnant. The baby later died.
