SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- A Cochise County man who is accused of having two pipe bombs in his home has been released on bond.

The Sierra Vista Herald reports that 34-year-old Michael Goodnough was ordered released on $100,000 bond but will have a hearing sometime next week.

Goodnough appeared in Justice Court in Sierra Vista on Thursday, where he faced charges of aggravated assault of a police officer and handling weapons.

Authorities say Goodnough's girlfriend called police Wednesday around 3:10 a.m. to report a suspicious item.

Local and federal law enforcement evacuated nearby residents in the Huachuca City neighborhood for 12 hours.

A bomb squad later detonated the bombs in a remote area of a landfill.

Goodnough is also accused of slightly injuring a Huachuca City police officer during a scuffle.
