ELOY, Ariz. -- A Mexican man in the country illegally who's already been deported four times has been arrested after a high-speed chase with Pinal County authorities.

County sheriff's officials say 19-year-old William Texin has prior U.S. arrests for aggravated assault with a firearm on a peace officer, false imprisonment and multiple charges of narcotics possession.

A sheriff's deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in Eloy for an equipment violation Tuesday night.

Authorities say the driver began driving erratically on Interstate 10, leading to a chase that reached 90 mph.

The vehicle then stopped on a road. Authorities say 10 people got out and jumped into an irrigation canal.

Three were able to cross the canal and escape into the desert. Texin and six other Mexican immigrants were arrested.
