CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Chandler police said a man lured a 14-year-old Massachusetts boy to Arizona and had sex with him on several occasions.
Authorities arrested 47-year-old Brad David Cooper at his home Wednesday on multiple charges of sexual conduct with a minor, molestation of a child and sexual exploitation.
Police said the teen was reported as kidnapped from his home in Pittsfield, Mass.
The boy told police he ran away with Cooper, whom he met online in April.
Investigators said the contractor, who is separated from his spouse, picked up the teen June 6 and they left for Arizona by car.
According to police documents, Cooper drove and the two had sexual encounters while stopping in New York, Indiana and near the Oklahoma-New Mexico border.
Police are asking that Cooper be held without bond.
