PHOENIX -- A drunk passenger reportedly caused an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Miami to be diverted to Phoenix on Tuesday.

According to NBC Miami, the 28-year-old passenger was part of a wedding party.

While on the flight, the man had a few too many drinks and got into a confrontation with another passenger who was traveling with his family, officials said.

After he refused to cooperate with flight crew demands, the plane was diverted to Phoenix. He was removed from the flight about 11:30 p.m.

The plane continued to Miami where it landed safely.

No charges were pressed, so the unruly passenger was booked on a later flight.
