PHOENIX — A northern Arizona man faced charges after trying to shoot the moon. Literally.
Cameron Read was arrested last week after witnesses told Prescott Valley Police officers that he had been talking about Halley’s Comet and began shooting. He told police he was trying to shoot the moon, not a person.
Police said Read resisted arrest and admitted he smoked marijuana before setting his sights on the moon.
Read has been booked into the Yavapai County Jail on suspicion of
felony counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm, resisting arrest, disorderly
conduct and endangerment plus misdemeanor criminal damage.
