CORDES JUNCTION, Ariz. -- Northbound Interstate 17 was partially reopened Thursday about five miles north of Cordes Junction after a vehicle fire.

The closure at the Orme and Dugas roads interchange is about midway between Phoenix and Flagstaff.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said northbound motorists can exit I-17 at Cordes Junction and then return to the freeway north of the closure by taking State Routes 69 and 169 through Dewey.

There's no estimate when northbound I-17 will reopen.
