ELOY, Ariz. -- Authorities said a woman from Mexico was arrested outside Eloy after an officer noticed large bundles of cash in her car during a traffic stop.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said there was nearly $70,000 found in the car Monday.

Maribel Toscano, 26, told the deputy that she was returning to Mexico after shopping all day in Phoenix.

Investigators said the woman acknowledged that she was transporting drug money after the deputy noticed two large bundles of cash in her purse and additional cash bundles elsewhere in her car.

She was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
