Scottsdale teen to be honored at Carnegie Hall

PHOENIX — A teenager from Scottsdale, Ariz. will be honored in the glittering lights of New York City’s Carnegie Hall on Friday.

Haley Lee, 16, is one of 16 Portfolio Gold Medalists in the 2014 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards who will be recognized at the legendary music hall.

Lee won her award for her “outstanding writing portfolio.” In addition to a trip to New York City, she also won a $10,000 cash scholarship.

While in New York, Lee will attend multiple functions for scholarship winners.
