PHOENIX — A half-naked man armed with a saw and screwdrivers has been shot
and wounded by Phoenix police.
Phoenix police said the man was threatening some office workers and damaging
property Tuesday afternoon near 19th Avenue and Missouri.
Officers confronted him and used their stun guns, but they said the man still
wanted to fight.
The man was shot by an officer and taken to a hospital in serious condition. His name hasn’t been released yet, but police say he appeared to be in his 20s or
30s.
Police said no officers were injured in the incident.
But they said light-rail service in the 19th Avenue and Missouri area was
disrupted as police closed down the intersection as part of their investigation.
