PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Health announced they’ve been successful in reducing the amount of time it takes to analyze newborn blood screens to three days.
“It’s very exciting,” said Celina Nabor with ADHS. “Any type of delay in diagnosis could potentially result in death or possible impaired development.”
The aggressive effort came after it was discovered that Arizona was doing extremely poor in getting blood samples to the state lab efficiently.
