TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucson police say officers shot two people, one fatally and another accidentally, during a confrontation related to an eviction at a midtown apartment complex.
Police said the shooting occurred late Wednesday night during a confrontation between two officers and a man brandishing a hockey stick.
The man was fatally wounded by the officers.
He was identified Thursday as 28-year-old Michael Duncklee.
Police said a woman who was in an adjacent bedroom also was wounded by the officers' gunfire. She was treated and released from a hospital.
Police spokesman Sgt. Chris Widmer said the officers went to the apartment complex because the landlord had recently evicted some tenants but there were people inside the apartment and she wanted them removed.
