CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Pete Gosar stepped down as Wyoming Democratic Party chairman last week to launch a longshot run for governor in this heavily Republican state.
He's not the only politician in the Gosar family.
Gosar's older brother is Arizona congressman Paul Gosar, a Republican and strong critic of President Barack Obama's administration on issues ranging from the Affordable Care Act to its handling of the 2012 attacks in Benghazi.
Pete Gosar is the only candidate to declare in Wyoming governor's race as a Democrat so far. On the Republican side, incumbent Gov. Matt Mead is seeking re-election. Republican challengers Cindy Hill, the state superintendent of public instruction, and retired Cheyenne doctor Taylor Haynes are also in the race.
