Security guards questioned in Phoenix bar shooting
PHOENIX -- Two private security officers have been detained by Phoenix police after a shooting outside a bar that left one man wounded.
Police said a fight between a patron and a guard precipitated the shooting about 2 a.m. Monday outside the Funny Farm bar near 4rd Avenue and Thomas Road.
A 37-year-old man intervened to try to defuse the situation and was shot by a security guard.
The man was shot in his upper body and transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition. He was expected to survive.
The security guard who fired the shot left the scene but returned when police called him back for questioning.
