PHOENIX -- Police say shoppers at a Phoenix Wal-Mart store were sent into a panic after a man accidentally shot himself in the leg.

Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes said a male shopper's gun, which was at his hip, went off around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at a Walmart store near 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

KTVK-TV reports the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Holmes said Walmart managers evacuated the store, which was shut down for a short time.

Holmes said the man is not facing any charges.
