Prostitution bust targets Phoenix strip club
PHOENIX -- Police have made two arrests while investigating allegations that a Phoenix strip club was operating as a house of prostitution.
Officers and SWAT members served search warrants at Club Lace and two homes early Wednesday as part of an investigation that began more than a year ago.
Police Sgt. Steve Martos said the club wasn't set up for dancing. Clients would pick the women and then go to one of the rooms inside the club near 28th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Investigators believed the business was making tens of thousands of dollars a month.
The investigation began after a customer called police about a year ago. The customer had visited the business thinking it was a strip club but found it was operating as a brothel instead.
