Crews begin work on I-40 bridge east of Flagstaff
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Travel on Interstate 40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction while crews replace a bridge east of Flagstaff.
Work on the eastbound deck of the Canyon Padre Bridge began Monday. The $2 million project includes replacing the bridge deck, rerouting traffic and creating a temporary off-ramp for eastbound traffic at the Twin Arrows exit.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the work about 22 miles east of Flagstaff will be done in three phases. There will be paving, striping and replacing guardrails. The work is expected to be completed in the fall.
