Man accused of numerous thefts arrested at Valley Walmart

PHOENIX — A man accused of committing numerous thefts at Valley Walmarts has been arrested.
Michael Lopez, 41, was arrested at a San Tan Valley Walmart by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office on April 25. An Asset Protection Agent recognized Lopez and called authorities.
When a PCSO deputy arrived, Lopez was appearing to flee with over $740 in a shopping cart. He was chased on foot and apprehended without incident.
While in custody, Lopez admitted to all allegations and previous thefts from the surrounding area Walmarts, according to a press release.
Lopez has 14 prior thefts from various Valley Walmarts. He has been incarcerated previously on theft and shoplifting charges.
