Arizona man convicted of killing his ex-wife
GLOBE, Ariz. -- A Hayden man is facing up to a 46-year prison sentence after being convicted of killing his ex-wife with a knife.
Gila County prosecutors said 38-year-old Guillermo Ortega III was found guilty of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault.
He's scheduled to be sentenced June 2 in Globe.
Prosecutors say Ortega attacked his ex-wife on April 28, 2013 in her home.
During the attack, the victim suffered fatal injuries to her neck.
The woman's brother was inside the home at the time, heard a struggle and came to her aid.
Prosecutors said Ortega also attacked that man with the same knife and wounded him in the chest and neck.
