Arizona authorities investigate lack of report of alleged rape
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. -- Pinal County sheriff's detectives are investigating whether an abortion clinic failed to make a required report to law enforcement on a sexual assault allegedly involving an 18-year-old man accused of multiple rapes.
The Casa Grande Dispatch reported that a Sheriff's Office report said a pregnant girl's mother reportedly told a Planned Parenthood worker that the girl was raped.
According to the report, the counselor allegedly miscoded the daughter's sexual activity as consensual. This would avoid aving to report an assault.
Planned Parenthood Arizona said it strives to comply with the state law requiring reports on sexual assaults and that it is trying to get more information on what happened.
Sheriff's spokesman Tim Gaffney said the incident is part of its investigation involving accused serial rapist Tyler Kost.
