PHOENIX — Move over Tucson and Tempe, there’s a new favorite college town!
Travel + Leisure has compiled a list of “America’s 20 Best College Towns” and Flagstaff chimes in at No. 10.
Home to Northern Arizona University, the city actually was voted No. 5 for by T+L readers for the best place to take a family vacation. The travel magazine even describes Flagstaff as being “positively made for kids.”
During warm months, the fun revolves around Heritage Square, where kids can attend workshops on everything from pottery to salsa dancing. At night, spread a blanket on the lawn and enjoy a family-friendly movie or a concert.
And of course, there’s the Lowell Observatory to provide stargazing fun for everyone, both young and old.
Burlington, Vt., home to numerous colleges, topped the list for both its “hippie vibe” and for its “thriving artisanal food” scene.
