Some Tucson-based metal workers may get jobs back

The 9th U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco has ruled Greenbrier Rail Services must reopen its closed Tucson facility and rehire the nearly 30 employees laid off in November 2012.

The Arizona Daily Star reports Greenbrier closed its Tucson facility last December.

The court lifted the temporary stay a district court put in place and ordered the company to restore operations at the facility and rehire the affected workers.

However, some workers from the Tucson facility took jobs at other Greenbrier locations in other states following the closure.

Greenbrier officials say they're complying with the court order.

The Oregon-based company provides equipment and repair services to the railroad industry.
