U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge sentenced Clarence Edward Lancaster, of Las Vegas, on Monday in Boise. Lancaster, 57, earlier pleaded guilty to bank larceny for stealing an ATM from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls in July 2012.

The U.S. attorney's office in Idaho said the plea agreement resolved 21 ATM thefts committed in Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Utah, Oregon and Arizona.

Lancaster was arrested in Arizona in January 2013 after trying to steal an ATM from Eastern Arizona College.

The FBI was able to connect Lancaster to the other ATM thefts by tracking his banking transactions.

Prosecutors say he confessed to Idaho ATM thefts at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Boise State University and North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene.

The thefts netted $124,000 in cash and caused more than $90,000 in damage.
