The fatal crash remained under investigation Friday.
Hours earlier, 64-year-old Abelardo Rivera-Contreras was struck while crossing 83rd Avenue near Indian School Road and later died at a hospital. Police believe the 27-year-old driver of the car involved may have been impaired.
