PHOENIX -- A 69-year-old Glendale man has been charged with shooting and killing his business partner nearly 20 years ago.

Dean Richmond Babbitt was released on $750,000 bond Tuesday in Maricopa County Superior Court on a charge of first-degree, premeditated murder.

Prosecutors said 41-year-old Robert Krahn was shot in the back of the head Feb. 3, 1996 at his used-office furniture business at 28th and Grand avenues in Phoenix, where the two were clearing a storage room.

Authorities said Krahn was killed with a handgun that Babbitt had reported stolen in 1995.

Babbitt is scheduled to appear in court again May 6.
