PHOENIX -- Authorities in the Phoenix area are looking for a hit-and-run driver who pulled an injured pedestrian from the hood of the driver's car and then fled the scene.
Chris Carpenter suffered a broken leg and numerous cuts in the Sunday evening accident. The 19-year-old said he was crossing a street when he was struck. He remembered rolling onto the windshield and getting stuck in its glass.
Maricopa County sheriff's Deputy Joaquin Enriquez said a witness told investigators that the driver stopped long enough to pull Carpenter off the hood.
Carpenter recalled yelling at the driver to take him to a hospital but that the man drove off.
Deputies were looking for a mid-1990s dark sedan with damage to its windshield and its hood.
