TEMPE, Ariz. -- Police have arrested a suspect in a 1999 cold case in the Phoenix area.
Tempe police said detectives and U.S. marshals arrested 42-year-old Homer Moore of Phoenix on suspicion of first-degree murder in the suffocation killing of 19-year-old Karam Hussein Jabbar.
The victim's bound body was found in the trunk of a vehicle in a Mesa grocery store's parking lot. An autopsy determined that Jabbar's death was caused by asphyxia partly because of a plastic bag placed over the head.
The body was found about week after Jabbar went missing.
Moore was arrested Monday in Glendale. Tempe police were seeking additional suspects.
