FLORENCE, Ariz. -- An Arizona prison inmate faced a 28-year prison sentence for the stabbing of another inmate at a state prison in Florence.
The Pinal County Attorney's Office said 25-year-old Vance Johnson was sentenced last week in the Jan. 11, 2009 attack in which the other prisoner suffered a severe brain injury.
A Superior Court jury acquitted Johnson of attempted first-degree murder but convicted him of dangerous or deadly assault.
