BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- Authorities say a dead body has been found along a road in Buckeye and it appears to be a homicide case.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the body of 51-year-old Mark Meginley was found Wednesday afternoon.

They say a sleeping bag was draped over Meginley's body, who carried no identification.

"He was kind of laying on some bushes and just kind of in a weird position," said MCSO Lt. Brandon Jones.

Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Brandon Jones says investigators are confident that the death is not a suicide and it looks like foul play is involved.

Authorities are checking on reports that some people in the area say they saw Meginley's body being thrown from a car.

KTAR's Cooper Rummell contributed to this report.
