TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities say a woman has been rescued after falling on a hike at the Gates Pass trailhead in Tucson.

The name of the 31-year-old woman wasn't immediately released Wednesday afternoon, but Northwest Fire/Rescue District officials say she is from out of town.

They say the woman suffered a leg injury when she fell about a mile up the trailhead.

She was hiking with another woman and they had a cellphone, which they used to call for help.

Northwest officials say it took about two hours to get the injured woman off the trailhead.

They say she was transported in stable condition to a Tucson hospital for treatment of her injuries.
