TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson man is in stable condition after he was shot trying to evade police with a search warrant.

Tucson police said 36-year-old Michael Castillo exchanged gunfire with officers after a foot chase in an apartment complex.

Authorities said the officers were preparing to serve a weapons-related search warrant when Castillo allegedly fled.

Sgt. Pete Dugan said Castillo was struck several times and taken to a hospital.

Dugan said the officers were not injured.
