PHOENIX -- Authorities say a motorist has been arrested for allegedly pointing a loaded gun at a Phoenix police officer.
Police said Tuesday that 69-year-old Robert T. McDonald is jailed on suspicion of aggravated assault.
Police say an officer in plain clothes was driving on a Phoenix street Monday morning.
The officer was making a turn when another driver passed by and stuck his arm outside his window with a gun in his hand.
Police say the driver allegedly pointed the gun in the air and then aimed it at the officer. The officer ducked and radioed for help.
Police say MacDonald stopped his car and allegedly stuck the gun out of the window again, pointing it in the air.
No shots were fired and McDonald was taken into custody without incident.
