Border agents secure more than $300K of methamphetamine
PHOENIX -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection said officers seized multiple pounds of methamphetamine over the weekend worth more than $300,000 at ports of entry in Nogales.
Authorities said officers found 41 pounds of the drug Friday hidden in a truck carrying eggplants.
Saturday, CBP said its officers found more than 16 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a car trying to cross from Mexico into the U.S. Later, officers found more than 29 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle.
That same day, authorities seized about seven pounds of the drug found strapped to a Tucson man's body. Sunday, a Mexican woman was stopped who had more than eight pounds of methamphetamine strapped to her body.
Five people were arrested in the separate incidents.
