BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. -- Authorities in Bullhead City say a woman was attacked by a dog when she trespassed into a home.

Bullhead City police said the 55-year-old woman entered through a secured gate, despite the presence of several signs warning of a dog.

Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said when the woman knocked on the door, a pit bull-Rottweiler mix came out and attacked her.

Fromelt said the unidentified woman was taken to a hospital and then flown to Las Vegas for further treatment for injuries to her face and arm.

Fromelt said the home's residents did not know the woman.

She said the dog is being contained at the home and is up to date on shots.

Police did not say if the woman will face charges.
