PHOENIX -- Four people have been arrested in connection with numerous gunshots fired outside a Phoenix high school as a basketball game was going on inside.
No one was injured in the Jan. 31 incident, but the gunfire prompted tightened security on the campus of Cesar Chavez High School in southwest Phoenix.
Police announced Thursday afternoon that three men and a 17-year-old boy have been booked into jail.
They say none of the four arrested attended either high school involved in the basketball game.
Police say Gang Enforcement Unit detectives identified the people involved, resulting in indictments and arrests.
The city announced in February that it would give the Phoenix Union High School District money to hire additional school resource officers.
