Tempe police searching for sexual assault suspect

PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a man suspected of sexually assaulting a Tempe woman in her apartment early Thursday morning.

The victim told police she awoke about 4:30 a.m. to find the suspect allegedly touching her vaginal area. She confronted the suspect, who fled the area.

It is unknown how the suspect entered the apartment in the 100 block of W. Fifth Street. The victim's roommate was home at the time but said she did not see the suspect.

The suspect is described as being a white male standing six feet tall with a heavy build. He has short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and eyeglasses.
