Surprise holds burglary prevention open house

Mar 27, 2014, 5:00 AM | Updated: 5:00 am

There is a burglary prevention open house tonight in Surprise, where police will give tips to keep your home and vehicle protected.

“To start, we’re going to have residential burglary prevention, where we talk about alarm systems and other ways to protect your home and your families,” said Doug Lynch with the crime prevention unit.”

Lynch said there will also be a SWAT team demo, a ‘Shoot, Don’t Shoot’ simulator, and a vehicle in the parking lot to talk about vehicle thefts and burglaries.

People sometimes get a little careless because crime is so low in Surprise, he said.

The open house will be at the Public Safety Auditorium and run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

We want to hear from you.
