PHOENIX -- Authorities said a Phoenix businessman has been arrested and charged with selling counterfeit merchandise, including contact lenses.

Jewelry Unlimited also sells necklaces, watches, and nose rings, but police said many of the store's items are fake.

The Phoenix Police Business and Economic Stability Team busted the store Tuesday.

At the Desert Sky Mall location, police confiscated $560,000 worth of counterfeit merchandise in watches, purses and clothing along with prescription and novelty contact lenses.

Police said Jewelry Unlimited chain owner Masarof Hossain didn't have a license to sell contacts as a pharmacy.

They also said fake contacts can ruin people's eyes, causing everything from ulcers to blindness.

d Hossain is being held on suspicion of illegal control of an enterprise and counterfeit products.
